Sreenivasan – Mammootty starrer ‘Katha Parayumpol’ is continuing its dream run in Kerala. The film which has just completed 25 days has emerged the winner among all Christmas films. But the biggest news to grace the crew of the movie was that K. Balachander’s Kavithalaya, has bought the rights from Sreenivasan to make a Tamil version of the film.

Rajnikanth will play the role enacted in the original by Mammootty , before he starts  working with Shankar’s Robot. Malayalam banner Seven Arts which distributed the original will also support Kavithalaya in the remake of the movie.

Star director P Vasu will direct this movie which will also be made in Telugu with the same cast. Actor Pashupathy is all certain to play the role of the Barber that Sreenivasan played to perfection in the Malayalam original.

Rajinikanth who recently viewed the film from a Chennai cinema hall was in full appreciation for Sreenivasan, one of his old friends in the film institute, for penning such a refreshing endeavor. The film, which made him nostalgic about their great old days, when they were struggling to make a name in cinema.

Superstar was visibly moved after watching the emotionally charged climax which speaks much more about the bond of friendship.
